Megan Morehead
Intern/Counselor Trainee
Name & Credentials: Megan Morehead, Intern/Counselor Trainee,
completing an MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling (anticipated
graduation May 2027, Liberty University). I offer counseling services
under the clinical supervision of Kathy Holmes, LPCC-S.
My Personality:
I strive to bring a calm, steady, and grounding presence to our shared
counseling space. I believe that you are the true expert of your life,
holding the innate knowledge of what you need to heal. My therapeutic
style is collaborative, empathetic, and strengths-based. I offer a safe,
warm, and nonjudgemental environment where you can feel heard,
respected, and supported as we work together as partners.
Areas of Interest:
Whether you are navigating an overwhelming season or looking to
restore balance, I provide evidence-based, integrative care tailored to
your unique journey. My primary clinical focus areas include life
transitions and identity growth, relationship struggles and
communication issues, parenting support and solo parenting dynamics,
maternal mental health and new mothers, anxiety, stress, and burnout
management.
Ages I work with 0-5, 5-15, 15-18, Adults, 65+
I am honored to serve diverse populations across the lifespan, including
teens, adults of all ages, and couples.
Special Trainings/ Certifications:
I draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral
Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Narrative
Therapy, and Person-Centered Therapy. At your comfort level, we can
weave spiritual or faith-based practices into our counseling sessions,
using your personal beliefs as a source of profound strength. I am a
certified SYMBIS assessment facilitator trained to help couples navigate
premarital preparation, personality profiles, communication dynamics,
and customized relationship roadmaps.
What makes me unique:
Before entering the counseling profession, I spent two decades working
in public service, including the FBI. This background gives me a
specialized, firsthand understanding of the intense stress, pressure, and
operational burnout faced by personnel working in crisis intervention,
emergency situations, and high-demand fields. My federal service
cultivated a deep empathy and respect for diverse populations. I bring
this nonjudgemental, culturally humble, and crisis-informed perspective
directly into my clinical work, offering a safe harbor for individuals
carrying heavy professional or personal burdens.
Hobbies:
To stay grounded and balanced, I lean heavily on my adventurous and
creative sides. I am an avid outdoorswoman who loves running, hiking,
swimming, archery, and camping. I enjoy painting, drawing,
photography, and singing. I love to organically weave these creative
rhythms into the therapeutic process for clients who find them helpful. I
am a natural leader and actively lead a solo parent group. At home, I
find joy in cooking for people I love, stargazing, caring for my pets, and
spending time with my son.
Take the next step toward healing.
